About the studio

Started by one stylist who was tired of ten-minute cuts.

Our story

Marlowe & Ash opened in 2019 with three chairs and one rule.

Founder Amara Marlowe spent nine years cutting hair in fast-turnover salons before opening her own — with a simple standard: no appointment gets rushed, no matter how full the book is. That rule is still the first thing every new stylist learns here.

Today the studio is a small team of six, each trained in cutting, color, and texture, so you can move between services without starting over with a new stylist each time. We keep the client list smaller than we could to protect the thing that got us here in the first place — time.

What guides the work

A few standards every stylist here holds to, regardless of the service.
